Nicole Neelis (1988) studied Dutch law (specialization criminal law) and international and European Law at the Radboud University in Nijmegen and the LUISS Guido Carli Università in Rome, Italy. After graduating in 2013 she joined the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Within the Public Prosecutor’s Office she worked in various departments, amongst those are the National Public Prosecutor’s Office and the district public prosecutor's offices in Rotterdam and The Hague. Most recent she worked as a public prosecutor. Nicole also gained experience in the judiciary environment by working as a deputy judge.
Through this variety of roles across prosecution and judicial environments, Nicole does not only have litigation experience, but also a thorough knowledge base of the workings of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the court. She knows how a criminal investigation is being conducted from the prosecutor's point of view, and how a criminal case is judged by the court.
