Neil Bertrand (1984) started his career with the Marine Corps. As a marine he followed various training courses and was deployed several times. During his studies in law at Leiden University, he gained experience in (military) civil service law, with a trade union for soldiers and police officers. In addition to his Masters in Criminal Law and Procedural Law, Neil has also followed the Talent Program of the Law Faculty of Leiden University, an additional curricular research program aimed at acquiring and developing legal and multidisciplinary research skills. In addition, he was a student assistant for two years in the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Department and he did an internship at the scientific office of the Public Prosecutor's Office. After graduating in October 2014 in the field of criminal and criminal procedure, Neil spent three months as a teacher at the Criminal Law Department of Leiden University. He joined FvKG Advocaten on 1 January 2015.
