Joost Groenhuijsen
Joost Groenhuijsen (1989) completed his law studies at the University of Maastricht - specializing in criminal law - in 2012 (cum laude). During his studies he received a prize because he was among the top 3% of the faculty. In 2013 he started working as a lawyer in Amsterdam. Since then, Joost has focused on the defense in criminal cases. In recent years he has successfully dealt with cases at the court, the court of appeal and the Supreme Court. Within his practice he focuses primarily on financial criminal law, with a specialisation regarding confiscation cases. His assistance is characterized by precise case study, up-to-date knowledge of the law and a well-prepared presentation at court hearings. Joost is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Defence Attorneys (NVSA) and he is a member of merit of the NVJSA. Since 2018, Joost has also been affiliated with the Radboud University in Nijmegen. He conducts research into offences that are only subject to prosecution on complaint, such as defamation.

Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
