Dr. Wouter de Zanger

Wouter de Zanger (1988) studied law at Utrecht University. In 2012, he graduated (cum laude) from the Legal research master, in which he specialized in criminal law. During his studies, Wouter worked as a student assistant at department of criminal law and criminology, served an editor at a national legal journal and did an internship at the scientific bureau of the Hoge Raad der Nederlanden.

After graduating, he worked as a PhD researcher, postdoctoral researcher and assistant professor at Utrecht University. In this capacity, he has published several papers on the financial combat of crime, out-of-court settlements of criminal cases and financial-economic crime. In 2018, he defended his PhD thesis on criminal confiscation. He joined FvKG Advocaten in 2020.

Since March 2022, Wouter has also been affiliated (part-time) with Utrecht University. Furthermore, he frequently teaches lawyers and judges on the subjects of money laundering and confiscation.
